Today two classmates and I went on another field trip. Both a heartbreaking and heartwarming experience. I’ll write more about it tomorrow or so. Now an old swimmer friend, Liv, is visiting. I’m helping her planning her trip around Thailand. Can’t wait for my next trip (Sunday)! Going to be nice to pack my backpack again for a week long getaway.
Today I’ve gotten quite much done, actually. I’ve been to the store and bought a mosquito net, a prepaid sim card to my phone and icebreaker socks. I’ve also gotten a new design on the blog (not sure if I’m happy with it, but it works for now), I’ve gotten around to set up my twitter account and made a facebook page for my blog. So if you want to follow me on FB or Twitter, now you can.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt this stressed before. One week left until my last day at work. Really can’t wait, but at the same time there’s so much left to do. At least the apartment is starting to look empty. And tomorrow I’m heading to the Thai embassy to pick up my passport again. Can’t think longer than that right now.
It’s wonderful weather outside, but I’m spending the day in front of my computer. I’ve now started to really try to get rid of my furniture. I’ve sold one bookshelf and the tv bench this far. They haven’t gotten picked up yet though. I’m just about to post the add for my sofa. It’s a great sofa, I spent a year sleeping on it, and now my sister has slept on it for half a year and it still looks okay.
I don’t feel too bad about spending the day inside though. I’m watching the world championship in Swiming as I work.
My mom and dad are visiting and we’ve just snacked on strawberries and coffee. They’re just stopping by on their way back home, so they’re continuing their trip tomorrow. They’re going to take two of my boxes with them.
Some of the things I’ve packed up to save:
- Favorite movies (Harry Potter, Wallander)
- Favorite books (Harry Potter)
- A buddha figure I got after grandma
- A porcelain cat and dog I got after great grandma and great grandpa
- Old diaries and letters
- A little clothes that’s unnecessary to throw out (fancy dress, old uni sweatshirt)
Before leaving I’ll probably end up with one more box as well. Everything else is getting sold or thrown out. It’s actually very liberating, getting rid of things. Tomorrow I’m getting rid of the last dvds, I sold some old folders and a few dvd’s today. This far it’s going okay.
I was back at the vaccination clinic today. Third time’s the charm. Or fourth, can’t remember. Looks like it’ll be the last at least. Finally. Got the tuberculosis vaccination and got the official result of the chest X-ray (everything looks okay). So now that’s crossed of the list.
While in the city I also got new passport sized photos, so another item crossed off the to-do list.
Now I’m waiting for the bus. At home I’ll do the third task of the day: book tickets to Stockholm so I can go to the Thai embassy to apply for a student’s visa.
What a long week! Felt like it would never end. But at least I’ve gotten a few things done:
- Sent in the renewal for my driving license.
- Applied for student loan
- Gotten passport-sized photos
- Sold two lamps
It’s 33 days left until last day at work, another week until I fly to Bangkok. It’s seriously all I can think about. Which isn’t very good when I try to work and get things done…
I’ll spend the weekend throwing things out.
I’m really tried after a day of traveling. I’ve nothing against traveling, as you all might now by now, but it’s always less fun and exciting to travel home. After eight hours on a train I want to be somewhere new, not back home…
At least I’ve got this week off from work. My only vacation this summer. Haven’t gotten much planned. Tomorrow I’m heading into the city to get my next vaccination shot, on Thursday I’m babysitting my goddaughter and on Friday I have to take the last vaccination shot. Other than that I plan on using the time to get some things sold, and start to clean out my desk and old clothes. It’s after all only 65 days left until my last day of work
Last night I had such a stressful dream. I dreamt that I was cleaning out my apartment and had only a couple of hours before I had to hand in the keys and be all moved out. The thing was though, that for every thing I threw out, it multiplied and it showed up another two copies of it. Let me tell you, it was mighty stressful… I think it might say something about the fact that I’m starting to feel a bit stressed.
A part of me feels like August 22nd is so far away that I can’t really start to get rid of things because I need them. But at the other hand August 22nd is really soon and I’ve got a lot of stuff and a lot of things to get done before leaving…
Ugh… I can’t wait for August 22nd when I’ll be on the airport, getting ready to leave for Bangkok.
I’ve finally sent in my application to Rangsit University in Bangkok. I’m already accepted to the program, so it’s just paperwork, but still. So nice to have it done!
It’s still a lot left to do though. Only for the uni thing I’ve also got to apply for a visa, apply for accommodation, apply for student loans, get the rest of the vaccinations, apply for scholarships… it never ends…
More good news though, I think. Friday afternoon I finally got a hold of the national board of health and welfare that I tried to reach for days. I’m not going to repeat that conversation because it was so stupid (the guy I talked to actually asked when I needed it, I’ve waited for 8 weeks! I needed it yesterday!) but he said he would sent it that day. So hopefully I’ll have it tomorrow or Tuesday. That’s the last certificate I’m waiting for, so as soon as I get it I’ll send in the application for a physiotherapist license in England.
