Today class started half an hour earlier than normal, at 8.30. That’s not early, especially considering I’ve been at work by 7 am for almost three years before I arrived here. But for some reason it feels very early when the alarm goes off in the morning.
This was my breakfast this morning. Coffee and pineapple, can’t complain. Anyway, class today was about women and child health, which are very interesting areas. I’ve never been more grateful that my best friends, who are now both pregnant, live in Sweden and not in a developing country. The risks of mothers and children in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia aren’t funny, the number of deaths (that are preventable) are horrifying.
